Calling all Watch D.O.G.S.
The Watch D.O.G.S program is officially back at WCE for the second year.
A huge thanks to Wes Bergeron, John Buri and Jonathan Foy for your leadership to get things going this year. If you aren’t familiar with WatchDOGS you can check out their website at https://dadsofgreatstudents.
Volunteering begins this week. As stated previously, you MUST be an approved SBISD volunteer (renewed each year) in order to be a WatchDOG. Now is the time to register if you haven’t done so this year.
You can access the SBISD volunteer application here. Once you have registered, you may use this sign up genius to choose your volunteer day.

5th Grade Parent Meeting
Wednesday, September 17th at 7:30 pm
Melissa Treadway’s Home
13506 Pinerock
At this meeting, we’ll go over all of the exciting 5th grade activities planned for the year and how everyone can get involved. It’s also a great chance to connect with other parents.
In addition, we’re getting a jump on 5th grade t-shirts! Please use the link below to order and submit sizes by Friday, September 19th: ORDER SHIRT SIZE HERE! **THESE SHIRTS RUN SMALL!** Please see the size chart in the google doc for references. T-shirt samples available for sizing at curriculum night and at the parent meeting next week. If we do not get a form from you we will be left to guess your child’s size.
If you have any questions please reach out to your 5th grade liaisons, Ashley Kerr & Ashley Miller at Wceliason5@gmail.com.
We're excited to share a new project supporting our sister school Buffalo Creek Elementary! The Sister School Committee is creating a Care Closet stocked with essentials like socks, toothpaste, deodorant, hair accessories and more so students have access to items they may need.
If you would like to help, please consider donating from the Amazon wishlist. This would make a great service opportunity for your extracurricular groups like GAP, Rock Solid, Scouts, etc. Your support will make a big difference for these students!
Stay tuned: Morning Movers will be back soon and will have a grand opening on the new track!
Morning Movers is a great way to instill good habits in students by moving their body before school through running, jogging, or walking around the WCE playground to fun music on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Morning Movers is open to all WCE students (PreK-5th grade).
Lead by: Tiffany Baumgartner, Tonya Leiva, Amanda Ortiz, Michelle Stone & Randi Wiley

Let’s give our wonderful Wilchester staff an occasional break from lunch duty so that they can enjoy lunch as a grade level team! We’ve chosen our monthly Teacher Appreciation Luncheon days to help cover lunch duty for our teachers.
Please only sign up for one slot for each child so we can allow everyone to get a chance! If they don't fill up we will send out again.
Lunch duty involves getting students into the lunch line, helping to open food containers, and reminding students to stay in their seats. An administrator will be available to help with any behavior issues or other incidents.
**YOU MUST BE REGISTERED AS AN SBISD VOLUNTEER TO PARTICIPATE!
