School Bell Award Nominations
We are fortunate to have so many dedicated teachers and staff at Wilchester! Let's recognize these deserving individuals by submitting a Wilchester team member for a School Bell Award. The School Bell Award is an SBISD-wide award which recognizes an outstanding SBISD staff member who promotes the Purposes of the PTA and advocates for all children.
Nominees should exemplify the PTA's mission to make every child's potential a reality through their support of PTA programs, parent education, family engagement and advocacy efforts, as well as to foster a positive learning environment.
The nominating form is brief and shouldn't take too long to complete but if you think a staff member is extra special, please take a few moments and complete a nomination for them. It will mean so much for them to be recognized!
Deadline for nominations is Friday, December 19, 2025. You can nominate more than one staff member, but you will need to fill out a unique form for each staff member you are nominating.

Winter Holiday Party Details & RSVP Link
Winter Holiday Class Parties will be held from 9:30-10:30 am on Friday, December 19th. Parents will be allowed to enter parties at 9:30 am.
Please note a few IMPORTANT details that will help everything run smoothly:
- YOU MUST BE A REGISTERED SBISD VOLUNTEER to attend the party. This annual process must be completed EACH YEAR.
- Register as a SBISD volunteer here.
- This process takes a few days, so please register TODAY!
- If you aren't sure if you have registered as a volunteer, please call the front office to check.
- To avoid long lines, RSVP HERE to have your BADGE pre-printed. Please note the following:
- RSVP using the same name you used to register as a SBISD Volunteer (this is typically the name on your picture ID/Driver's License). We won't be able to preprint your badge if you RSVP with a nickname, middle name, or alternative.
- This RSVP is your entry into the school building. It will ensure you have been screened through the volunteer system AND we have a badge printed for you.
- If your driver's license hasn't been scanned into the system this year (e.g., you haven't had a badge printed this school year), you can stop by the office anytime this week to have your license scanned. Without a scanned license, the office cannot preprint a badge for you.
- Ensure you bring a photo id if you have not had your license scanned into the system.
- If you do not RSVP for the party, you will still be allowed to enter the party (if you are an approved SBISD volunteer), but you will have to wait in line to have a badge printed.
If you signed up to "help/volunteer" or donate an item for your class party, you still need to RSVP on this form.
- Class sign-ups are not considered a RSVP to have a badge pre-printed.
- Please note that if you have signed up to bring an item to the party, you will not be allowed into the party until 9:30. If the item needs to arrive earlier, please drop it off before school the morning of the party or send it with your child/the party chair for your class.
Failure to complete the SBISD Volunteer Application and/or RSVP will restrict/delay your entry to the party.
We are looking forward to celebrating the start of Winter Break with fun and festive parties! Thank you for your help in completing all of the necessary steps to ensure you are able to enjoy the party with your child(ren)!

We’re excited to host our 4th annual WCE International Night on Thursday, February 12th from 5–7 pm! This fun event gives students the chance to learn about countries and cultures from around the world. Families can explore tables hosted by members of the WCE community, each featuring a different country.
We’re looking for volunteers to host a country table. If you’re from another country or know a lot about one, we’d love your help! You can decorate your table with anything that represents your country—food, games, activities, or cultural items. You do not need to be from the country you choose. Multiple families can host the same table. Sign-up deadline: January 20
Questions? Contact Marie-Louise Noble.
We’re also inviting families to create a one-minute video about their home country, their ancestors’ country, or a country they’ve visited. These videos will be shown during morning announcements. Students have really enjoyed making and watching them in past years.
If you’d like your child to create a video or want more information, please contact Melissa Chou. Videos must be filmed horizontally and be 60 seconds or less. Video deadline: January 26th.

This way you can upload photos from your phone and send them directly to the yearbook committee. If the app isn't working for you, you can also email pictures to wceyearbookpics@gmail.com. Please make sure to include grade level or what event the pictures are from so we can get them on the correct page.

Have a friend who didn't receive an eBlast this week? It's probably because they missed the deadline to join the PTA. Oops. Good thing we will still accept their membership through the "Small Form" throughout the year.
Please forward the link below to your friend so they can join.
And, did you know that belonging to Wilchester's PTA gives you access to great discounts on goods and services through Texas PTA? Click here to learn more!

Volunteers are needed each morning to prepare the media center (library) for the day. Additionally, there are slots to sign up for your child’s time in the media center (library). If you do not see your child’s teacher listed, check back as it will be added as soon as available.

Calling all Watch D.O.G.S.
The Watch D.O.G.S program is officially back at WCE for the second year.
A huge thanks to Wes Bergeron, John Buri and Jonathan Foy for your leadership to get things going this year. If you aren’t familiar with WatchDOGS you can check out their website at https://dadsofgreatstudents.
Volunteering begins this week. As stated previously, you MUST be an approved SBISD volunteer (renewed each year) in order to be a WatchDOG. Now is the time to register if you haven’t done so this year.
You can access the SBISD volunteer application here. Once you have registered, you may use this sign up genius to choose your volunteer day.
Questions about Watch DOGS? Please email watchdogswce@gmail.com and we'll get back to you.

Let’s give our wonderful Wilchester staff an occasional break from lunch duty so that they can enjoy lunch as a grade level team! We’ve chosen our monthly Teacher Appreciation Luncheon days to help cover lunch duty for our teachers.
Please only sign up for one slot for each child so we can allow everyone to get a chance! If they don't fill up we will send out again.
Lunch duty involves getting students into the lunch line, helping to open food containers, and reminding students to stay in their seats. An administrator will be available to help with any behavior issues or other incidents.
**YOU MUST BE REGISTERED AS AN SBISD VOLUNTEER TO PARTICIPATE!

The district requires everyone to sign up each year in order to volunteer in the classroom, go on field trips, help during school events, and participate in other Wilchester activities. Any family member who may volunteer at Wilchester (Mom, Dad, Grandparent, etc) should plan to sign up.
