Calling all Wilchester Families for Crossing Guard Duty

For those that don't know, Coach E has moved and we are in need of help in the mornings for the last 5 weeks at the cross walk at our school. This is a quick 30 minute commitment, but the impact is grand as it helps our students safely cross and get to school.

Please arrive at 7:15am to the school, grab the stop sign and proceed to the cross walk at St. Mary's and Yorkchester. Thank you!

Order School Supplies Now!

School Supply time is upon us! Online ordering is open for the 2026-2027 year.

To order:

  • Visit this link.
  • Follow the steps to purchase the supplies for your child's grade.

Orders placed through June 21st will be delivered to the school. Orders placed after June 21st will be shipped to your home and will lose the school discounted prices.

PLEASE NOTE: The PTA will NOT be ordering extra kits this year. The ship to-home option replaces the need for extra kits. No additional kits will be available to purchase outside of these two options!

We’ve added the option to donate at checkout to assist Wilchester Elementary families in need with purchasing supplies.

We would appreciate you passing this info along to friends and neighbors who may be new to WCE next year. (After a busy summer, you may forget that you ordered school supplies, so make a note on your calendar for August to remind you that you ordered!)

Every order placed through School Tool Box supports Cal’s Angels Pediatric Cancer Foundation.

Questions? Please contact Mittsi Petersen, Beth Ramey, Megan Marsh, and Lynsie McGuinness at wceschoolsupplies@gmail.com.

Registration/Re-Enrollment Now Open!

Registration for new students, and reenrollment for returning students, is now open. This year more than ever it is critical that families complete the reenrollment. The district will be watching these numbers to inform staffing updates for the 26-27 school year.

Registration - Spring Branch Independent School District

Parents also need to update proof of residency and immunization records. For the families that provide a utility bill for proof of residence, you will need to provide the most current paid utility bill and update each month. If you have questions or need help with registration, please contact Dalila Ortiz. She will be happy to help you!

**Please note, when you re-enroll now, your child’s grade level will show as this year’s grade.  That is correct.  The system will roll forward over the summer and the new grade level will be updated.**

Want to help the Sister School Committee with Teacher Appreciation Week?

We will be decorating their staff lounge for lunch on Monday, May 4 - 9:15 - 9:45 am. Simple decor, this an easy way to love on our sister school teachers. We'll meet at Buffalo Creek and we'll have the supplies.

Bayou City Blessings in a Backpack is an organization that helps combat food insecurity in the Houston area (www.bayoucityblessings.org). Every Friday of the school year, food bag ‘blessings’ are delivered to over 2300 students in order to help 'bridge the gap' between Friday’s school lunch and Monday’s school breakfast. One of the schools Bayou City Blessings serves is Wilchester’s sister school, Buffalo Creek Elementary.  Each Friday, BCBB relies on volunteers to transport and deliver bags to BCE. If you’re interested in helping, please use the Sign Up Genius link below. Please complete your SBISD volunteer background check before volunteering.

Spring Volunteer Sign Up

Media Center (Library) Volunteers Needed

Calling all volunteers! The library is ready for you to volunteer and make the Spring 2026 semester amazing. We have three different ways you can help out. Sign up for one, two, or all three. Can't wait to see you in the library.

Volunteers are needed two days each week to keep the books on the shelves. Duties are easy - scan in books returned by students and then shelve the books so they are ready for the next readers. Sign up here.

If you are interested in helping with library projects, we need you! Fill out this Google Form so we can be in touch.

Sign up to be in the library during your child's classroom library time. You can sit with your child while the lesson is taught and then help him/her and the classmates find books. Sign up here. It is organized by grade and then teacher; using a computer rather than a mobile device might be easier.

Have a friend who didn't receive an eBlast this week? It's probably because they missed the deadline to join the PTA. Oops. Good thing we will still accept their membership through the "Small Form" throughout the year.

Please forward the link below to your friend so they can join.

And, did you know that belonging to Wilchester's PTA gives you access to great discounts on goods and services through Texas PTA? Click here to learn more!

Calling all Watch D.O.G.S.

The Watch D.O.G.S program is officially back at WCE for the second year.

A huge thanks to Wes Bergeron, John Buri and Jonathan Foy for your leadership to get things going this year. If you aren’t familiar with WatchDOGS you can check out their website at https://dadsofgreatstudents.com/.

Volunteering begins this week.  As stated previously, you MUST be an approved SBISD volunteer (renewed each year) in order to be a WatchDOG.  Now is the time to register if you haven’t done so this year.

You can access the SBISD volunteer application here. Once you have registered, you may use this sign up genius to choose your volunteer day.

Questions about Watch DOGS?  Please email watchdogswce@gmail.com and we'll get back to you.

Lunch Duty Volunteers- Sign up today!

Let’s give our wonderful Wilchester staff an occasional break from lunch duty so that they can enjoy lunch as a grade level team! We’ve chosen our monthly Teacher Appreciation Luncheon days to help cover lunch duty for our teachers.

Lunch duty involves getting students into the lunch line, helping to open food containers, and reminding students to stay in their seats. An administrator will be available to help with any behavior issues or other incidents.

**YOU MUST BE REGISTERED AS AN SBISD VOLUNTEER TO PARTICIPATE!

 Volunteer Here!

The district requires everyone to sign up each year in order to volunteer in the classroom, go on field trips, help during school events, and participate in other Wilchester activities. Any family member who may volunteer at Wilchester (Mom, Dad, Grandparent, etc) should plan to sign up.
