Ever wonder how your child's name and birthday get to be displayed on the Wilchester School Marquee? Well here's your answer. You just sign up! But you better act fast because we have over 850 students at Wilchester and only 14 spots available each month.

• Have your child featured on the marquee in front of the school for their entire birthday month, beginning in September.
• It makes for a great photo op and the kids are always so proud to see their name in lights.
• There are only 14 spots available each month and they will sell out, so act fast!
• $75 a piece
• Must sign up by Friday, August 21st for September birthdays
• Don't forget to enter your child's birthdate on the form

Last year we had an incredible response from you all and we want to build on it this year!  In fact, we had 177 individual WatchDOGS sign up last year! 30 of those WatchDOGS 2days...and 3 of those WatchDOGS did 3 Days!  We had 85% of all slots for WatchDOGS were filled - that's no doubt, the best response in all of SBISD!   Volunteering will begin August 31st.  As stated previously, you MUST be an approved SBISD volunteer (renewed each year) in order to be a WatchDOG.     Now is the time to register if you haven’t done so this year.  You can access the volunteer application HERE   Once you have registered, you may use this sign up genius to choose your volunteer day.  The link is live so go sign up!

Homeroom Parent Selections!

Thank you to everyone who volunteered to serve as a WCE Homeroom Parent for the 26-27 school year! We received so many volunteers that we had to pull names from a hat in many classes. If you were selected as a Homeroom Parent, you should have received an email from WilchesterHomeroomParents@gmail.com.

If you were selected as a Homeroom Parent, we look forward to seeing you at the Homeroom Parent Training on Friday, August 21st after the PTA Meeting (in the Wilchester Cafeteria). If you have not yet registered to attend the PTA meeting, please Click Here by 5 pm on August 19th to expedite the check-in process.

The PTA board is proposing to make the following updates to the Wilchester Bylaws:

Addition of Zelle as a method of payment for reimbursements

• Zelle is for PTA reimbursements only (not vendor or contractor payments).
• Reimbursements require approval from two authorized check signers before payment.
• Requests must include receipts and can be submitted online or by paper.
• Only the Treasurer may send Zelle payments.
• Recipient information must be verified before payment is sent.
• Zelle payments are limited to $2,500 per day; larger approved reimbursements may be split across multiple days.

Add flexibility to invest savings into higher interest bearing accounts

• Invest excess PTA funds in federally insured accounts only.
• Membership approval is required for new investment accounts and fund transfers.
• Executive Board makes recommendations on the institution, account type, amount, and term.
• Protecting principal and liquidity takes priority over higher returns.
• Interest earned is deposited into the PTA general fund.

The district requires everyone to sign up each year in order to volunteer in the classroom, go on field trips, help during school events, and participate in other Wilchester activities. Any family member who may volunteer at Wilchester (Mom, Dad, Grandparent, etc) should plan to sign up.
